Lawrence Caplan, a resident of Parkland, FL, appeared on the primetime Millionaire show from January 14-15, 2000 as the second person in the USA version of WWTBAM to lose $218,000 on the half-million dollar question. Just as a personal fact, Lawrence was one of my favorite contestants to see on WWTBAM even though he took a large gamble. Here is Lawrence's runthrough to losing $218,000.

• C: Candle in the Wind • D: I Will Always Love You
Unsure of the answer, Lawrence used his Phone-a-Friend lifeline to call his buddy, Richard. Unfortunately, Richard didn't give an answer within the 30-second time limit. At that point, Lawrence was wanting to walk with the $250,000, but he made up his mind and went for D: I Will Always Love You, but he got it wrong and left with $32,000. He got the answer wrong for another reason: he said that "I Will Always Love You" was sung by Celine Dion. Whitney Houston was the singer.
